MTG Season 10 Rules
In the mtg season 10 we are going to play banning pick type of format.
all cards are allowed in the first tournament.
when the first tournament is over players that participated in the tournament are going to announce a card that will be banned in the next tournament. you can ban any card (except basic lands of course).
deck requirements:
60 card deck + 15 card sideboard
no banned cards in deck
the tournament is held in Finland Tampere vaajakatu 5f at 12.5.2012 13.00

NoSound Gaming’s MTG season 9, 2nd tournament is being held in 17.3.2013 – 13.00 pm at tampere finland vaajakatu 5f.

MTG Season 9 Launches!
Magic the gathering season 8 is finished finally and the new season 9 is starting out !
The season 9 format will be draft.
rules:
Entry fee 10€ / or bring 3 gate crash boosters
Each player is given three booster packs.
Each player opens one pack and removes one card for themselves.
They then take the remaining cards and pass them to the player on their left.
They subsequently receive cards from the player on their right.
They remove a card from the new set of cards and pass it to their left.
This process continues until there are no more cards.
Players then open their second booster pack.
They repeat the process, this time passing cards to their right.
When there are no more cards, they open their final booster pack.
They repeat the process, this time passing cards to their left again.
After exhausting all three booster packs, each player should have selected and obtained 45 cards.
They combine as many or as few cards from the ones they just selected with any amount of basic lands they desire. This becomes their deck. This deck must have a minimum of 40 cards.
players return all of the rares they drafted into one center pile after the tournament is over. The player who came in first selects a rare to keep, then the player who came in second, and so on. After the last player picks a rare, it starts over again with the player who came in first. Playing a match like this does two things, it gives the winner a prize without having the players to spend money on additional packs, and it prevents rare drafting to make the matches more competitive and fun.
(Sometimes this rule is adjusted to make players return all rares and uncommons. This makes the tournament more competitive, but the cards-to-keep selection process afterwards is much longer.)

Starcraft 2 Global Play is here
Nulleeet himself has tried and confirmed that he can play on EU, North America, SEA and Korea on the same account without having to buy new copies of Starcraft 2.
It could be that Blizzard’s workers are just testing it out right now so try it at your own risk.
Blizzard itself has not made any official blog or news post about this Starcraft 2′s Global Play, aside from this note:
"Global Play has not yet been released. What people are experiencing is the work that is being done behind-the-scenes in preparation for it's official
launch. We'll have more information about it soon. Keep in mind that once it is released, you'll be able to switch regions on the login screen and will
NOT have to download multiple StarCraft II clients. Feel free to refer to our Global Play blog and the FAQ."
There are three ways to make it work.

You can download different sc2 wol clients and install them anywhere else than where your original client is.

Create regions.xml file in the root folder where your sc2wol is installed (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II and paste it there)

Own3d tv quits
There has already been rumours of it since a lot of players have favoured Twitch over Own3d TV. There’s also the fact that Twitch has sponsored lots of players and teams while Own3d hasn’t done that in public.
cadred.org has now been informed by an anonymous informant that Own3d TV is going to close their services during this week.
There were negotiations between Own3d TV and Machinima over Machinima purchasing Own3d for 5 million dollars including Own3d TV’s debts. The negotiations were dropped on the 16th of January, which means that Own3d TV cannot continue their service. We are now waiting for Own3d TV to make an official statement on this issue, whether they are able to provide their services in the future or not.
After Nulleeet read this piece of news he immediately switched from Own3d TV to Twitch, so that his streams wouldn’t be delayed. He is also trying to upload his content on Own3d TV onto his Youtube channel.

THQ Bankruptcy
THQ has filed for bankruptcy – but as part of a plan to ultimately strengthen the business and hopefully find it a new owner.
The publisher this evening announced it had agreed to sell the majority of its US assets, including its publishing operation and four studios, to affiliates of investment firm Clearlake Capital Group in a ‘stalking horse bidder’ deal.
The company’s foreign operations, including Canada, are not included in the filings.
There will be no redundancies as yet and the firm says the business, its customers and retailers will not be effected as it shapes up.
Its shares will, however, be removed from the stock exchange.
Stalking horse bids are used to test market interest in an acquisition target and improve sales conditions – in this case an attempt to sell on THQ’s business before any break-up of the US operation and its studios is necessary. Bankruptcy would effectively wipe out THQs debts, while the temporary sale would secure the business’ future as the publisher looks for a new permanent owner.
A statement from the firm said: “THQ will continue operating its business without interruption during the sale period, subject to Court approval of THQ’s first-day motions. All of the company’s studios remain open, and all development teams continue. The company remains confident in its existing pipeline of games. THQ maintains relationships with some of the top independent development studios around the globe. As part of the sale, the company is seeking approval to assume the contracts of these studios, and Clearlake will assume these contracts.”
It also added: “Consumers and retailers should see no changes while the company completes a sale. The new financing will support business operations throughout the period. THQ does not intend to reduce its workforce as a result of the filing, and employees will continue to work their usual schedules and receive normal compensation and benefits, pending customary Court approval.”
Exec statements from CEO Brain Farrell and president Jason Rubin also asserted their ultimate confidence in the business despite its financial hardship.
“The sale and filing are necessary next steps to complete THQ’s transformation and position the company for the future, as we remain confident in our existing pipeline of games, the strength of our studios and THQ’s deep bench of talent,” said Farrell, also chairman.
“We are grateful to our outstanding team of employees, partners and suppliers who have worked with us through this transition. We are pleased to have attracted a strong financial partner for our business, and we hope to complete the sale swiftly to make the process as seamless as possible.”
Rubin, who joined only in May as the firm moved to revamp its business, added: “We have incredible, creative talent here at THQ. We look forward to partnering with experienced investors for a new start as we will continue to use our intellectual property assets to develop high-quality core games, create new franchise titles, and drive demand through both traditional and digital channels.”
THQ’s upcoming games include South Park: The Stick of Truth, Company of Heroes 2, Metro: Last Light and Homefront 2.
